The Bulldogs acquired a few players over the offseason. I never made posts about them, mainly because I hate announcing a new player only for them to never show up, and so on. Therefore, I didn’t post about any new signings.
Charlie Zolin was traded to the Camrose Kodiaks in exchange for future considerations. I kind of expected this trade after they acquired Ethan Morrow from the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL. Zolin played 20 games with the Bulldogs last season, with a record of 12-6-1. I genuinely thought he would be the starter here next season. Camrose got a fantastic goalie, and it seems like they gave up almost nothing for him at this point. Many of the “future considerations” could be dependent on whether he reports (just a guess). When the Bulldogs got Morrow from Ontario, one thing that crossed my mind was whether the Bulldogs still owe Olds for that Heimstra trade. I mean, the fact that Olds also lost their 20-year-old goalie after last season made it a thought of an idea. I do not know how much a kid from Connecticut would of loved having to play in Olds though🤔
I really thought Zolin would be the first Bulldog netminder to play 2 seasons in a row here. I’m rooting for him in Camrose. Nothing but great memories of Zolin playing in Blackfalds and I am certain that every other fan in the stands feels the same way.
