The Bulldogs headed Bonnyville to take on the Pontiacs. I have never stepped foot personally inside the Bonnyville arena (Now that I think about it the only arena in the league along with Whitecourt I have never been in). Looks kind of neat. I have just driven by outside. It looks like the Pontiacs are wearing training camp jerseys for the game. They look like Olds Grizzlys jerseys almost.🤔 The Bulldogs came out and sluggish which Bonnyville capitalized on to gain an early lead.

The Pontiacs took the 1-0 lead when Bonnyville native Brent Hoshowski scored for his hometown team with the assist from 18 year old Waterloo, Ontario native Jonas Schmidt.

The Pontiacs make it 2-0 when RPI commit Noah Henrich scored assisted from Jonas Schmidt.

Chicago native Luka Sukovic made it 3-0 for the Pontiacs just over a minute later. Assists on the goal to Syracuse, New York native James Schneid and St Thomas, Ontario native Jordan Schanbacher. (On elite prospects website it actually has James Schneid as a member of the Brooks Bandits🤔)

Pontiacs were not finished scoring yet as Brent Hoshowski gets his second goal of the night 4-0 Pontiacs. Assists on the goal to Burlington, Ontario native Nathan Philips and Jonas Schmidt gets his third helper of the night.

Toxic Masculinity🤪

The first period wrapped up 4-0 Bonnyville. The Pontiacs outshot the Bulldogs 13-7 in the first period.

The announcers kept calling David Brandes “Brandys”. Not to be rude or funny I honestly think thats how they thought they pronounced his last name.

Noah Davis went into the net at 11:11 for the Bulldogs relieving Haden Heide.

Huge hit by Matt Hanscom who smokes Red Helmet Guy then Connor Dick scores his 4th goal of the preseason down on the 2-1 immediately after from Saskatoon native Josh Knittig at 11:29 of the first period. 4-1 bulldogs. That is Hanscom’s second huge hit in as many games. This kid is going to be a fan favorite at the EBC. I wonder if he had one of them cool Boston accents as he is from Massachusetts.

They gave a penalty to 16 year old Sundre native Dominic Grieco for not having his helmet done up. Ineligible player. But no worries as the Bulldogs scored shorthanded Luke Dahlen passed it to Brendan Ross and its 4-2 Bulldogs. Bulldogs outshot the Pontiacs 10-6 in the second period.

Tyler Blocha the former Brooks Bandit scored into the empty net to make it 5-2 with 30 seconds remaining in the game. The Pontiacs outshot the Bulldogs 27-22. Veteran goalkeeper Bode Weiss got the win playing the whole game for the Pontiacs stopping 20 of the 22 shots he faced. On the other end for the Bulldogs Haden Heide stopped 13 of 17 shots he faced and Noah Davis stopped all 9.

Bulldogs next game is Saturday September 9th at 6pm in Blackfalds against the Bonnyville Pontiacs again.

The Bulldogs traded D man Jano Zambakdjian to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons for future considerations.

The feed from Flo in Bonnyville was the worst I had seen as for delays and pauses. Really bad. When I switched to other games in the league and not a problem at all. The announcers for Bonnyville were really good at least and enjoyable to listen to but the camera glitches were making it unwatchable along with the gloom dark view.
