The Bulldogs ended their preseason up Saturday night at home with a loss to the Bonnyville Pontiacs. The Pontiacs opened up the scoring after a loose puck was found by Mississauga, Ontario native Tobias Iantorno. Assists on the goal went to Brent Hoshowski and Jonas Schmidt. Then just over a minute later the Pontiacs scored again on a weird angle bounce behind the net with Ottawa native Max Seguin getting his first goal of the preseason. With assist going to Chicago native Luka Suckovic. That makes it 2-0 Pontiacs.

Tanner Willick got his second goal of the preseason at 12:39 of the first period. Gurkan-Patterson-Willick-Goal. Right off the faceoff. Bulldogs cut the Pontiacs lead to 2-1. But the Pontiacs responded back a few minutes later at 15:25 of the first period when Quebec City native Ludovic Tardif scored his first of the preseason unassisted. That makes it 3-1 Pontiacs. The names Ludovic and Luka on the Pontiacs team get a tad confusing. Shots were tied at 11 each at the end of the first period.

At 17:26 of the second period Brendan Ross got his 5th goal of the preseason as he tipped in a Connor Dick shot to make it a 3-2 game. The Bulldogs outshot the Pontiacs in the second period 10-8. In the third period Calgary native Ethan Look made it a 4-3 game getting his second of the preseason. With assists going to Pennsylvania native Billy Batten and Burlington, Ontario native Jack McAra.

Matt Hanscom is a torpedo out there. In the last 3 games the kid has played in he has leveled 3 other guys. He could very well be the reason why they build a hospital in Blackfalds. Hanscom got a penalty for a clean hit and Bonnyville got one for getting rocked.🤪 Not really the Pontiacs just got upset so they had a scrum after and penalties came from it. Keep your head up🤪

The Bulldogs ended up losing the game 4-2 and outshot the Pontiacs 29-27. It is really going to be interesting to see what the roster looks like on opening night. As a fan I am starting to like all these guys and would hate to see any go.

Quebec native Nathan St. Germain got the win for the Pontiacs stopping 27 of 29 shots. While Ethan Morrow was in the net for the Bulldogs stopping 23 of the 27 shots he faced.

We all know the league is cracking down on fighting. But I am pretty sure most fans do not object to tilts like this one that occurred in the Fort Mac Lloyd game Saturday afternoon. Really if there is anytime to fight that fight below is an example. Down by 2 goals, third period, Hooegendoorn tries to give his team a boost. I mean your team still lost the game but the effort and the thought was there👍

Bulldogs open up the season in Olds Friday September 15th. Their home opener is Saturday September 16th at 6pm against the Drayton Valley Thunder. Alexey Trischuk in a Thunder uniform might be very strange to see.🤔
