The first two periods of the game seen no scoring. The Bulldogs outshot the Oilers 23-14 in the first 2 periods. The Bulldogs had numerous chances to score and couldn’t bury one.

The Oilers opened up the scoring at 3:24 when veteran Hunter Sawka scored on a penalty shot to make it a 1-0 game.

The Bulldogs responded back just over 2 minutes later at 5:29 when Carter Patterson scored his second goal of the season, a beauty to make it a tie game while short handed. With the assist going to Alexander Dimitriadis. Okotoks replied back on the Power Play when Dean Spak scored his 4th goal of the season assisted from Colton Alexander and New Jersey native Sam Hall at 6:46 of the third period to give the Oilers a 2-1 lead.

Brendan Ross scored his 6th goal of the season at 10:23 of the third period from newly acquired former Brook Bandit Dakota MacIntosh and Jayden Joly to make it a 2-2 game. Dakota MacIntosh was acquired apparently the day of the game. He wasn’t on the roster, they didn’t even have a name bar ready for him. I just seen the number 26 and almost thought Tyler Wallace was back.

Brendan Ross got his second goal of the game and 7th of the season and made it a 3-2 game at 13:43 of the third period while on the Power Play. Assists on the goal to Dakota MacIntosh and Tanner Willick. Thats the Bulldogs first lead of the game.

Alexander Dimitriadis sealed the deal and made it a 4-2 game shooting the puck in the empty net.

Wilson Maxfield played awesome in his first start as a Bulldog stopping 32 of 34 shots for the win. While former Nanaimo Clipper and Quebec native Shane Shelest also played well for the Oilers stopping 30 of 33 shots that he faced.

Dakota MacIntosh had an excellent game in his Bulldogs debut. Well actually not his Bulldogs debut technically his Blackfalds Bulldogs debut. He spent last season with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL. In Port Alberni he put up over a point a game. The Alberni Bulldogs also went to the BCHL final where they lost to Penticton. MacIntosh put up over a point a game in those playoffs. The season before that he played in the NAHL with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. The Big Dipper Arena👍

Okotoks also had a player #11 who wasn’t listed on the roster and I never got his name.

Three Stars announced at the game were 1) Brendan Ross 2) Dakota MacIntosh and 3) Wilson Maxfield.

Attendance in Blackfalds was 543
