.The Lethbridge Hurricanes emerged as the winners, seizing the opportunity during a late power play. They further solidified their lead by scoring an empty net goal and capitalizing on a five-on-three man advantage in the waning moments, ultimately securing a 4-1 victory over the Red Deer Rebels. The final score didn’t truly reflect the closely-fought nature of the game. Both teams exchanged few scoring opportunities, especially during the initial 40 minutes, all while maintaining their defensive integrity.

Chase Pauls ties the game up for the Hurricanes. from Miguel Marques and Trae Wilke. That was Chase Pauls 50th career WHL point.

In the first period shots were 7-6 for the Rebels.

The second period was very uneventful and the shots were 9-6 Rebels.

Trae Wilkie makes it a 2-1 game for the Hurricanes at 14:32 of the third period on the Power Play. With assists on the goal to Swiss new comer Leo Braillard and Blake Swetlikoff. Leo Braillard played last season in the QMJHL with the Shawinigan Cataractes. He had 22 points in 40 games last season and had 4 points in 7 games this season. The kid is 18 years old. It must be an import limit rule thing.

Brayden Edwards scored into the Empty Net to make it a 3-1 game with just under 3 minutes remaining. With the assists on the goal to Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick Noah Chadwick and Miguel Marques. Why pull the goalie that early when you are only down a goal.

With all momentum and desire to play drained from pulling their goalie way too early Brayden Edwards scored on the Power Play at 18:18 from Leo Braillard and 20 year old Joe Arntsen.

Harrison Meneghin made 24 saves on the 25 shots he faced for the win for the Rebels. While Kyle Kelsey stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced.

Tonight was WHL game number 200 for Rebels d man Elias Carmichael. Carmichael joined the Rebels from the Kelowna Rockets where he played the last 4 seasons and played in 192 games prior.
