The Bulldogs beat the Bandits last time they faced them on Halloween night. This time the Bandits are short benched (but so are the Bulldogs) It was a scoreless first period and the Bulldogs didn’t look their best but on the bright side either did Brooks.
Bandits outshot the Bulldogs in the first period 8-3. You know what doesn’t win hockey games. 3 shots. Well either does 8 usually.
Jayden Joly makes it 1-0 at 18:36 of the second period when he buried a rebound. At first it appeared that it was Dahlen. But 12, 13 it looked close. Assists on the goal went to Ryan Shaw and Luke Dahlen.
Shots in the second period were 11-7 Blackfalds.
Brooks got on the board at 9:05 of the third period to make it 1-1 when Clarkson commit Mirko Buttazzoni scored unassisted. He was allowed to dance in and take all the time he wanted so all his homeboys could screen Morrow so bad he was blind as Ray Charles, then he shot it and it went in the net.
I am starting to think that the refs in the league personally have something against Brendan Ross. I don’t know if he said something to them or did something outside of the rink to them or what, but it sure looks like a personal grudge. He gets sticked, whacked, tripped up, ect and nothing ever seems to get called. It seems like the refs find it funny especially if he gets hurt.
Recent Canisius Commit Luke Marshall scored for Brooks to take the lead at 10:43 of the final frame with the assist going to Former Penticton Vee Nicholas DeGraves.
The Bulldogs should do the kids dancing on the jumbotron at the whistle breaks instead of the “Kiss cam”. No one wants to see old people kiss. Its stupid. Kids however will jump at the chance to be the center of attention. Bad promotion idea for a business.
Brooks got a penalty with about 1:30 remaining. The Bulldogs pulled Morrow for an extra attacker but couldn’t score and the Bandits won the game.
Did the bulldogs at the end forget they were on the Power Play?
New Canaan, Connecticut native Brendan Holahan made 24 saves on the 25 shots he faced for the win. While Ethan Morrow made 20 saves on the 22 shots he faced for the Bulldogs.
Three Stars of the game were 1) Brendan Holahan 2) Ethan Morrow 3) Mirko Buttazzoni
Attendance in Brooks was 1,523
Bulldogs next game is Monday December 18th in Calgary against the Canucks. Then Tuesday December 19th against the Saints in Spruce Grove.
Former Bulldog Dakota MacIntosh had a pair of goals for the Moose Jaw Warriors Friday night.
He was named first star of the game in the Warriors 4-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Since joining the Warriors MacIntosh has 9 points in 18 games.
