On Friday night, the Marchant Crane Centrium was electric as the Red Deer Rebels clashed with the Moose Jaw Warriors in a thrilling, high-octane showdown, ultimately ending in a 6-4 defeat for the home team.The Rebels showcased their veteran grit, with Talon Brigley, Matthew Gard, Jaxon Fuder, and Beckett Hamilton lighting the lamp to fuel a spirited performance, even though the scoreboard didn’t reflect their effort.The Warriors improved their record to 4-2-1-0, while the Rebels fell to 1-6-0-0, marking their fourth consecutive loss.
Former Penticton Vee Casey Brown scores for the Warriors on a short handed breakaway at 6:28 of the first period when the Rebels were victimizedby a horrible bounce in their own end.–Casey Brown sent home the Warriors first shorthanded goal of the season to put the Warriors ahead just under six and a half minutes into the period. The Warriors were able to hold off the Rebels on the power play to keep them off the board.

Talon Brigley tips a Keith McInnis point shot to tie the game at 13:43 of the first period. The other helper on the goal went to Jake Missura.–Midway through the period, the Rebels struck back when Talon Brigley deftly redirected a point shot from Keith McInnis, skillfully sending the puck past Moose Jaw’s goaltender, Matthew Hutchison.
Washington Capitals 2025 first round draft choice Lynden Lakovic gave the Warriors a 2-1 lead at 17:53 of the first period. The assist on the goal went to former Lethbridge Hurricane Kash Andresen.

Matthew Gard ties the game up for the Rebels at 1:27 of the second period. The helpers on the goal went to Samuel Drancak and Jaxon Fuder.–Red Deer came out firing in the second, and it paid off when Matthew Gard pounced on a Samuel Drancak rebound to even things up again.
Riley Thorpe made it a 3-2 game at 4:55 of the second period while the Warriors were on the Power Play. The assist on the goal went to Moose Jaw local Gage Nagel.–Following a hit to Hutchison behind the Warriors’ net, the Warriors headed to the power play after the Rebels were assessed a penalty for goalie interference. Riley Thorpe capitalized on the man-advantage to once again give the Warriors the lead.
Saskatoon native Kash Andresen made it a 4-2 Warriors game at 9:24 of the second period unassisted. Which marked the end of Chase Wutzke’s night and he was replaced by Peyton Shore.- Kash Andresen scored his first goal as a Warrior, putting the team ahead by two with just over ten minutes left in the game.
Former Rebel Steven Steranka made it a 5-2 Warriors game at 12:42 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to Edmonton native Brady Ness and Owen Berge.–Steven Steranka marked his first goal for the Warriors, finding the net against his former team and extending the lead to three with under eight minutes to go.

Jaxon Fuder got the Rebels back on the board and got them with in 2 and made it 5-3 at 13:37 of the second period with the assist on the goal going to Talon Brigley.–Jaxon Fuder netted his first of the season with a fortuitous bounce off the end boards, cutting the deficit to two heading into the third.
Shots on goal in the second period were 13-8 for the Rebels

Beckett Hamilton got the Rebels within one at 4:50 of the third period with the assist on the goal going to Matthew Gard.- Beckett Hamilton made it a one-goal game with an absolute rocket from just inside the blue line, giving Red Deer a late surge of energy and belief.
Lynden Lakovic makes it a 6-4 game firing the puck into the empty netat 19:44 of the third period with the helper on the goal going to Aidan Ziprick. Gard didn’t like it and went after Lakovic then a little scrum ensued. Shore came out. Shore and Gard will probably be suspended for tomorrows game.
Shots on goal in the third period was 6-6 with the Rebels outshooting the Warriors 35-23 in the game.
For the Warriors Matthew Hutchison made 31 saves on the 35 shots that he faced. For the Rebels Chase Wutzke made 11 saves on the 15 shots that he faced until being replaced at 9:24 of the second period by Peyton Shore. Shore then stopped 6 of the 7 shots that he faced.
