The Red Deer Rebels pulled off another thriller Saturday night at the Marchant Crane Centrium, nabbing their second win in four days against the Prince Albert Raiders—the top team in the WHL’s Eastern Conference. They really left it late again. Down 1-0 heading into the final stretch, the Rebels exploded for three straight goals in the last 10 minutes to grind out a solid 3-1 comeback victory. The crowd of 4,831 was roaring by the end of that one—it was a proper gritty effort. Red Deer hung tough all game, keeping things close, then finally broke through in the third. Beckett Hamilton got them on the board to tie it up, Owen DeWitt buried the go-ahead goal that got everyone on their feet, and Matej Mikes sealed it with an empty-netter to ice the game. Big two points in the standings too. The Moose Jaw Warriors had snuck ahead of the Rebels in the playoff hunt recently, but this win flipped things back in Red Deer’s favor. The Rebels now sit at 24-34-2-2 overall, while the Raiders drop to 46-10-5-1. Season series is even at 2-2 after these back-to-back upsets.

Brandon and Swift Current played last night and when I seen these teams on tv I was very confused.🙄 The Brandon Wheat Kings played as the Wheat City Walleye and the Broncos played as the Lake Diefenbaker Slough Sharks.
