The Blackfalds Bulldogs came up empty again Saturday night, falling 3-0 to the West Kelowna Warriors at Royal LePage Place and stretching a scoreless run to six straight periods after being shut out the night before. It was still a lot better than that previous game: the three periods in West Kelowna were at least entertaining, which last night was not. Olivier Chan opened the scoring midway through the second when he buried the rebound of a two-on-one set up by brother Emmanuel after Nico Armellin made the initial stop, and Daxton Endicott made it 2-0 on a scramble in front early in the third before sealing it with an empty-netter with about 90 seconds left. Armellin was the clear bright spot in a Bulldogs sweater, turning aside chance after chance and keeping Blackfalds in it long after the Warriors had seized control; Ethan Sawyer’s 24-save shutout on the other end simply finished the job. Going scoreless across two nights is a tough stretch, and it only raises the worry heading into Sunday against the Vernon Vipers, a team that has looked very hot lately.
Shots on goal in the first period were 8 each
Warriors make it a 1-0 game at 10:20 of the second period when Montreal native Olivier Chan scored his second goal of the season. The assists on the goal went to Emmanuel Chan and Weymouth, Massachusetts native CJ Watson.
Shots on goal in the second period were 13-5 for the Warriors
Warriors made it 2-0 after a scramble that led to a garbage goal at 3:20 of the third period when Daxton Endicott scored. The assist on the goal went to former Oklahoma Warrior John Kelly.
Daxton Endicott got an empty net goal at 18:37 of the third period with the assist on the goal going to Jace Rask.
Shots on goal in the third period were 11-10 for the Bulldogs
In this goaltenders dual for the Warriors Ethan Sawyer stopped all 24 shots that he facced for the win. Fot the Bulldogs newcomer and former Toronto Patriot Nico Armellin stopped 28 of the 30 shots that he faced.
Who ever picked the three stars of the game did not watch the game or has a kid on the Warriors. Because there is no way the top 2 stars aren’t both goalies so I changed them. 1) Ethan Sawyer 2) Nico Armellin 3) Daxton Endicott
Attendance in West Kelowna was 964
Bulldogs next game is against the Vipers in Vernon on Sunday October 4th
