The Bulldogs went down to Okotoks to kick off the first preseason game of the season for both teams and the first slated game in the BCHL. Defeating the Oilers 4-2.

Dean Toskos buries a Power Play marker with the assist going to Matthew Ronn at 17:32 of the first period.
After the first period shots on goal were 10-9 for Okotoks.
After a whack load of chances and some nice saves by Carson Mertz the Oilers score after their 4th shot when 20 year old Toledo, Ohio native Joseph Meredith scored at 4:44 of the second period. The helpers went to Hingham, Massachusetts native Nate Porter and Buffalo, New York native Joseph Gugino.

Trystyn Sidor scores a beauty from the high slot with a great pass from Nashville, Tennessee native Chance Adams. The other assist went to Edmonton native Brady Whitehead at 6:23 of the second period.

Declan Bowmaster makes it 3-1 for the Bulldogs after a great 2 on 1 with Juan Copeland. The second assist went to Radoslav Dimitrov. Dimitrov played for the Wenatchee Wild in the WHL last season. Dimitrov is of Bulgarian decent and from Edmonton according to Elite Prospects. After seeing the name I had to give a double glance too.

Carson Mertz who I assuming is the younger brother of Noah Mertz played amazing and made 32 saves on the 34 shots he faced for the win for the Bulldogs. For the Oilers Louis-Felix Charrois who played with Drummondville Voltiguers of the QMJHL last season
Three Stars of the game were 1) Trystyn Sidor 2) Carson Mertz 3) Louis-Felix Charrois
