On Friday night, April 10, 2026, in Game 5 of their BCHL Interior East Division playoff series, the Blackfalds Bulldogs delivered a commanding 4-0 shutout victory over the visiting Sherwood Park Crusaders at the Eagle Builders Centre, forcing a Game 6 and narrowing the series to 3-2 in favor of Sherwood Park.The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 2-0 first-period lead with two goals from Nicholas DiPaolo (against his former team), then added a late second-period power-play marker from Nikita Ivashchenko and another power-play goal from him in the third for insurance. Olivér Király was outstanding in net, stopping all 17 shots for the shutout. Sherwood Park was also whistled for a high number of holding and other close-checking penalties throughout the night, as they tried to grind and get physically tight against Blackfalds. The Bulldogs went 2-for-5 on the power play while holding the Crusaders scoreless on four opportunities, outshooting them 24-17 overall in a complete team effort that kept their playoff hopes alive.
