The Red Deer Rebels just made a move, picking up forward Nishaan Parmar from the Seattle Thunderbirds. Seems like they were willing to part with a couple of draft picks to make it happen – a fourth-rounder in 2025 (that originally belonged to Prince Albert) and a fifth-rounder in 2026 (previously Swift Current’s). Nishan Parmar at first sounded like a car model.

Parmar, who hails from Surrey, BC, is in his second WHL season. Seattle drafted him back in 2021 in the seventh round (148th overall). He’s having a pretty decent year so far, with 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) in 39 games. That’s already better than his rookie season last year where he had 12 points in 65 games.   Apparently, Parmar also had a strong season with the West Valley Giants in 2022-23, where he led the BCEHL U18 AAA league in assists and earned himself an all-star nod. So, it looks like Red Deer is adding a player with some offensive upside. It’ll be interesting to see how he fits in with the Rebels.

Rebels Made a few other moves also.
