It was the Bulldogs home opener on Saturday night and they lost 3-1 to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
Shots on goal after the scoreless first period were 10-6 for the Bulldogs
Jaden Johnson got the Silverbacks on the board at 17:45 of the second period. The goal should of never happened as the ref should of blown the whistle for a blatant trip, but eh reffing is hard and you miss some crap sometimes. The assist on the goal went to Banff, Alberta native Keifer Miller.

Luke Dahlen potted a goal to tie the game up in the dying seconds of the second period. The goal was so late they had to go to instant replay to see if the Bulldogs scored while time was remaining. It turns out they did and at 19:59 of the second period the Bulldogs tied the game on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to Joey Melo and Noah Mertz.
Shots on goal in the second period were 13-11 for the Silverbacks.
Yorkton, Saskatchewan native Grady Hoffman gave the Silverbacks the lead at 2:10 of the first period with the assist on the goal going to John Lumsden.
Warman, Saskatchewan native Liam Bursaw makes it a 3-1 game with 7:28 remaining in the third period with the assists on the goal going to Philadelphia native Brady Logue and former Green Bay Gambler Anthony Cardilli.
Shots on goal in the third period were 14-7 for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs outshot the Silverbacks 35-26 in the game.
Danile Dirracolo made 34 saves on the 35 shots that he faced. Dirracolo is a good goalie there is no doubt about that I have seen him play a few times last season. But this game it was like he held up a sign that read “Shoot the puck right at me everytime” and the Bulldogs followed. I don’t think the guy broke a sweat making a hard save all night. For the Bulldogs Brady Smith made 23 saves on the 26 shots that he faced.
Three Starsof the game were 1) Daniel Dirracolo 2) Luke Dahlen 3) Luke Lepper
Attendance in Blackfalds was 1064
Bulldogs next game is Friday October 3rd against the West Kelowna Warriors in Blackfalds.
Tyler Chiovetti had a great night with the Vipers picking up a goal and an assist while also receiving the third star in a Vipers 6-1 win over the Cranbrook Bucks.- Still trying to figure out why Antoine Gauthier and Braydan Smith were announced in the starting line ups as on the roster on the website and elite prospects they are not there.🤔
