In a gritty Remembrance Day clash, the Red Deer Rebels delivered a resounding road triumph, storming back to topple the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-4 on Tuesday. Rookie sensation Landon MacSwain shone brightly for the visitors, netting the decisive goal while dishing out three helpers as the Anchorage native made his mark in just his freshman season. Meanwhile, Samuel Drancak kept his hot streak alive with a tally in his sixth consecutive outing. The Rebels return west with a strong haul, pocketing five out of six points across their three-game eastern swing.

Wheat Kings made it 1-0 after a scramble and Joby Baumuller scored. The assists on the goal went to Carter Klippenstein and Nigel Boehm at 9:51 of the first period.

Matus Lisy ties the game up for the Rebels with his second goal of the season at 18:26 of the first period with the assists on the goal went to Nolan Schmidt and Landon MacSwain. Lisy from Slovakia was the Rebels 80th overall selection in last years CHL Import draft.

Shots on goal in the first period were 15-4 for the Rebels. If not for Shore the score would be about 5-1 for the Wheat Kings.

Beckett Hamilton gives the Rebels a 2-1 lead after a bonehead move by the Wheat Kings D men at the 9 minute mark of the second period. Thats Hamilton’s 6th goal of the season.

Wheat Kings tied the game back up when Wilcox, Saskatchewan native Joby Baumuller got his second goal of the game at 13:52 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to Iowa City, Iowa native 6’4 former Swift Current Bronco Grayson Burzynski and Giorgis Pantelas

Joby Baumuller got his hat trick goal to make it a 3-2 Wheat Kings game at 17:34 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to Carter Klippenstein and Giorgos Pantelas.

Samuel Drancak ties the game up with 6 seconds left in the second period while on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to Jaxon Fuder and Landon MacSwain. Drancak has now scored in 6 straight games.

Shots on goal in the second period of play were 20-15 for the Rebels

Rebels got back in the lead when Keith McInnis snapped a shot from the high circles to make it a 4-3 game at 2:30 of the third period. The assists on the goal went to Landon MacSwain and Grayden Peterson. Peterson who hails from West Fargo,, North Dakota has a lot of friends and family in the stands who made the 5hour drive up to Brandon to watch. A little quicker than the 16 hour drive to Red Deer.

Wheat Kings goalie Kraus for some reason decided instead of clearing the puck around the boards he would pass it right to Kohen Lodge. He then passed it to Landon MacSwain who made it a 5-3 game in the empty net at 11:39 of the third period.

With 2:55 remaining the Wheat Kings pulled their goalie and Brady Turko scored almost right off the face off at 2:49 of the third period to get the Wheat Kings within one and make it a 5-4 game. The assists on the goal went to Girogios Pantelas and Carter Klippenstein.

Moments later again Turko got a breakaway and Shore stopped him as there was a huge scramble the Wheat Kings almost tied it up. But with 1:31 left in the game Talon Brigley threw it into the empty net to make it a 6-4 game. The assist on the goal went to Jaxon Fuder

The Wheat Kings then pulled Kraus and then Beckett Hamilton scored his second goal of the game to make it 7-4 again then a big tussel occurred after someone hit him.

Shots on goal in the third period were 14-10 for the Rebels. The Wheat Kings though outshot the Rebels in the game 41-38.

Peyton Shore made 37 saves on the 41 shots that he faced for the win for the Rebels. For the Wheat Kings Jayden Kraus made 31 saves on the 36 shots that he faced.
