For the second night in a row the Bulldogs outshot their opponents and for the second night in a row the Bulldogs lost. The Bulldogs remain winless on the season, sitting with an 0-7 record after dropping their first three games at home. Chilliwack had a Kiss Cover Band Night. Wonder if they would ever have a Chilliwack Cover band in Chilliwack? Former Bulldogs Dakota MacIntosh and Connor Dick are on the starting line up for the Chiefs. MacIntosh had a couple goals last night in a Chiefs 4-3 lost to the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Ryan Castle’s glove got stuck in the glass and the refs are having a hell of a time getting it out of there. Funny stuff hope its on sportsnet

Aidan Castle makes it 1-0 at 4:42 of the first period with the assists going to Alexander Dimitriadis and Shane Purves. On the BCHL website it gave credit of the goal to the captain. But you can clearly tell Castle scored that. More shocked they let him set up camp in front of the net for so long. That is the first time the Bulldogs have had a lead all season.

Connor Dick tied it up for the Chiefs and the assist went to none other than Dakota MacIntosh at 9:59 of the first period. You would almost think trade pieces would of at least came through for MacIntosh for when he left.

Matteo Mrsic make it 2-1 when he scored at 14:15 of the first period mainly because when he shot the puck he didn’t shoot it right at the goalie and picked a corner. The assist on the goal went to Enzo Lottin and Luca Sorace. Lottin was the 7th overall pick in the QMJHL draft going to the Victoriaville Tigres.

Shots on goal in the first period were 10-8 for the Bulldogs

Joey Melo scored on the Power Play from Jayden Joly to tie the game at 3:01 of the second period. The other assist went to California native Tyler Chiovetti.

Bulldogs couldn’t clear the zone and the Chiefs capitalized and scored to make it 3-2 when Savin Virk got his 3rd of the season. The assists on the goal went to Brady Milburn and Brendyn Van Oene.

Chiefs make it 4-2 on the Power Play when Richland, Washington native Caleb Elfering gets his third of the season with the assists going to Enzo Lottin and Dakota MacIntosh at 16:20 of the second frame.

Chiefs captain Matteo Mrsic makes it a 5-2 game with his second goal of the night, and that is the end of Esche’s night. That goal was quick and he sniped that not much could of been done there. The goal was unassisted.

Shots on goal in the second period were 11-9 for the Chiefs

Trent LeDrew roofed a beauty to get the Bulldogs within 2 36 seconds into the third period unassisted. But it wasn’t enough.

I know one day will come where this play is praised and I feel stupid for always criticizing it. But that day has never come. Of course the Bulldogs pulled their goalie with over 2 minutes left. Of course MacIntosh knew that this and chipped it up to the next guy and they scored. Watching this is more frustrating than watching them lose.

Shots on goal in the third period were 9-6 for the Bulldogs with the Bulldogs outshooting the Chiefs 28-23 in the game.

For the Chiefs goalie Sebastian Gatto made 25 of the 28 shots that he faced. Sebastian Gatto was last years goalie for team Canada East in the World Junior A Challenge. For the Bulldogs Waylon Esche made 12 saves on the 17 shots that he faced until he left the game after the Chiefs 5th goal late in the second period. He was replaced by Mikkel Chirstensen who made 5 saves on the 5 shots that he faced.

Three Stars were 1) Matteo Mrsic 2) Dakota MacIntosh 3) Aidan Castle (every other place picked different stars. I watched the game it was this)

Attendance in Chilliwack was 1802

The Bulldogs next game is Monday at 11 am in Abbotsford against Vernon Vipers then Tuesday at 5pm against the Prince George Spruce Kings for the BCHL Show case.

There still will be a scratch before the game starts* James Johnson is out tonight*
There is no game sheet that Chilliwack made available online that I could find.
