Game 1 of the BCHL Showcase for the Bulldogs in Abbotsford. The start time for todays game is earlier than the Hockey Hookey day games they are playing in the Abbotsford Centre the home of the Abbotsford Canucks of the AHL. The bars open at 9am in BC so really the day has already started out there. The Bulldogs managed to drop their 8th straight game to a record of 0-8.

This goalie pulling crap is getting stupidly frustrating to even watch. Just hand the other team the win and walk off the ice with 4 or 5 minutes left instead of putting the players through predictable embarrassment.

Penn State commit Shea Busch scored for the Vipers to make it a 1-0 game at 5:51 of the first period. The assist on the goal went to Denver, Colorado native Charles Krestl.

Shots in the first period were 9-7 for the Vipers

Vipers made it 2-0 when North Vancouver native Shae Busch got his second goal of the game at 1:56 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to Charles Krestl and Fairbanks, Alaska native Simon Binkley.

After that goal the Bulldogs seemed to wake up and pressured then Alexander Dimitriadis got his third goal of the season and finally scored on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to Trent LeDrew and Jack McAra at 7:31 of the second frame.

Tyler Chiovetti ties the game up with a beauty at the 12:00 of the second period. The assist on the goal went to Jack McAra. The goal Chiovetti scored somewhat resembled the Overtime winner that Connor Zary from the Calgary Flames scored against the Vancouver Canucks earlier this week.

Shae Bush gets the hat trick when the Bulldogs turned over the puck shorthanded with the assist going to former Selkirk Steeler Lucas Brennan at 19:08 of the second period.

Shots in the second period were 6-6

Vernon, BC native Erik Pastro scored for the Vipers to make it 4-2 just 56 seconds into the third period. With the assist going to Arizona State commit Carson McGinley and Prior Lake, Minnesota native Will Schumacher.

A good bounce went the Bulldogs way which gave Alexander Dimitriadis an opportunity to find Jack McAra for him to put one past Colin Reay and get the Bulldogs within 1 at 4:11 of the third period.

Jack McAra scores his second goal of the game when he snipes it shortside to tie the game at 8:56 of the third period. The assist on the goal went to Liam O’Keeffe.

A horrible goof up at the Bulldogs blue line when they had such moment and it sprung the Vipers on a breakaway and Will Schumacher made sure the Vipers took the lead as he scored to make it 5-4 Vipers. (Which if the Bulldogs lack of quality shots didn’t seal the lose for them this certainly did)

I am shaking my head that if at this timeout at 2:36 left in the game the Bulldogs pulled the goalie. It looks like they really do have no intention of winning. Probably ever. EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! FAIL! 6 year old kids have pointed this out before in the stands in Blackfalds when they take breaks from their games of mini stick.

Shots on goal in the third period were 12-10 for the Bulldogs in the third period. The Bulldogs and Vipers each had 25 shots a piece that game.

Former Drayton Valley Thunder Goalie Colin Reay made made 11 stops on the 15 shots that he faced for the win for the Vipers. Mikkel Christensen made 19 saves on the 24 shots that he faced for the Bulldogs. I am also 100% confident that Christensen and Esche would of both walked away with easy shutouts if they were in the Vipers nets.

Three Stars of the game were 1) Jack McAra 2) Shae Busch 3) Alexander Dimitriadis

Bulldogs next game is Tuesday October 15th at 5 MST against the Prince George Spruce Kings.
