The Blackfalds Bulldogs defeated the Spruce Grove Saints last night in a preseason game in Spruce Grove.
Laziness on the Bulldogs cost them to get scored on let them have it. Scott Sandilands scored at 5:49 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to Gavin McNeil and Slovak import Richard Krnac.

Nicholas DiPaolo got the Bulldogs even with a goal at 7:39 of the first period while the Bulldogs were on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to Thunder Bay, Ontario native Max Leduc and Swede Leon Brunn.

Nicholas DiPaolo scores his second of the game and third of the preseason to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead while on the Power Play as the Saints goalie took a stupid penalty. Goal was scored at 5:56 of the second frame with the assists on the goal going to Max Leduc and Kitchener, Ontario native and former Navan Grad Josh Kaufman.

Henry Kress makes it a 3-1 game the puck went in way before the goalie got crashed into but of course the Saints want to waste time and go upstairs for a replay. It was scored at 18:03 of the third period unassisted.
Saints pulled their goalie then put him back in,
Saints score on a 6 on 4 Power Play to make it 3-2 with 17 seconds left. The goal went to Lindstrom, Minnesota native Noah Osland. The assists on the goal went to Carstairs, Alberta native Scott Sandilands and Apple Valley, Minnesota native Gavin McNeil.
Shots on goal in the third period were 7-5 for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs outshot the Saints 28-17 in the game.
Newly acquired Toronto native Ivan Kastelan played great stopping 15 of the 17 shots he faced for the win for the Bulldogs. For the Saints Colten Scott stopped 18 of the 20 shots he faced in the first half. He was replaced at the half way mark by veteran goalie Joseph Quintillo who stopped 7 of the 8 shots he faced.

When I seen the Bulldogs got this guy in a trade I looked at the name and thought what European country is this guy from. He’s from Toronto🤪. Kastelan played last season with the Georgetown Raiders of the OJHL.

Former Bulldogs Rohan Guevarra is playing back in Manitoba but this time with the Steinback Pistons. Not sure what happened here too bad really. Guy seemed to get caught in the numbers game alot last season. Hes going to rip that league apart again.
