The Red Deer Rebels have moved goaltender Peyton Shore, sending the 2008-born Winnipeg native to the Prince George Cougars in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft.The pick heading to Red Deer originally belonged to the Penticton Vees before landing in Prince George’s inventory. Shore was taken by the Rebels in the fifth round, 100th overall, at the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. Over two seasons with Red Deer he appeared in 38 games, finishing with a 4.22 goals-against average, an .863 save percentage, two shutouts and an 11-19-1-1 record. The 6-foot-2 netminder also spent time with the Virden Oil Capitals of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League earlier in his development, posting a 2.13 GAA and .920 save percentage in seven appearances there.After the Rebels traded veteran starter Chase Wutzke in November 2025, Shore split time with fellow young goalie Matthew Kondro. NHL Central Scouting had previously given Shore a W rating on a preliminary watch list for the 2026 draft, grouping him among possible later-round candidates.For Prince George, the deal adds another young goaltender to the organization.
