The Blackfalds Bulldogs defeated the Okotoks Oilers 6-3 last night in their BCHL matchup on March 6, 2026, at the Viking Rentals Centre in Okotoks. The Bulldogs overpowered the Oilers with a strong offensive showing, improving their season record to 29-13-1-0 (or similar strong standing around 33-13-1-0 in some projections) while extending their winning streak, as they outscored Okotoks across periods and controlled play with superior shots and opportunities. This loss for the Okotoks Oilers, who fell to approximately 16-23-2-1 amid a lengthy winless skid (now 0-6-1-0 or worse in recent games), officially eliminated them from contention for the 2026 BCHL playoffs, sealing their fate in a challenging season.

Magnuss Avotins finished off a 2 on 1 with Nikita Ivashchenko to make it a 1-0 Bulldogs game at 3:12 of the first period.

Thomas Neu made it a 2-0 game for the Bulldogs at 8:46 of the first period with his 21st goal of the season. The assists on the goal went to Nikita Ivashchenko and Joey Melo.

Bulldogs make it 4-1 on a goal that got challenged as a kick. There was no clear kicking motion so it counted as a goal. The BCHL website says that Joey Melo got the goal assisted by Krisjanis Sarts and Braydan Smith. Yet that clearly looks like Luke Dahlen that the puck bounces off and goes in the net.
Former New Mexico Ice Wolve Cayden Jaramo scored his first goal as an Oiler to cut the Oilers defecit to 2 at 17:12 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to Plymouth, Minnesota native Eli Molde and former Cranbrook Buck Jordan Murray.

Danny Hussa who would of got the Picollos hot minute had this been at home made it a 5-2 game for the Bulldogs just 42 seconds into the third period. The assist on the goal went to Radoslav Dimitrov.
Calgary native Jeff Niehaus got the Oilers within 2 at 16:20 of the third period. The assists on the goal went to Becker, Manitoba native Jordan Murray and former Powell River King Sam Esposito.
Nicholas DiPaolo made it a 6-3 game for the Bulldogs at 18:59 of the third period with the assist on the goal going to Thomas Neu.
Shots on goal in the third period were 14-9 for the Oilers. The Bulldogs outshot the Oilers 31-27 in the game.
Oliver Kiraly stopped 24 of the 27 shots he faced for the win for the Bulldogs. For the Oilers Saguenay, Quebec native Justin Giguere made 25 saves on the 30 shots that he faced.
