There was no scoring in the first period. Both teams managed to only get 4 shots each on the opposing goals.

Ben King opened up the scoring for the Rebels while on the Powerplay netting his 4th of the post season from the top of the circles beating Austin Elliot short stick side. With assists to Mats Lindgren and Jayden Grubbe at 7:53 of the second period.

Helsinki, Finland native Christoffer Sedoff made it a 2-0 game just over 2 minutes later when he scored on a pass from Ben King at 9:42 of the second period. With the second assist going to Jhett Larson.

Jhett Larson made it 3-0 when he buried a pass sent out in front of the net from Jayden Grubbe at 12:10 of the second period. The other assist on the goal went to Anaheim Ducks prospect Ben King. That was the end of Saskatoon Blades goalie Austin Elliot’s night. I don’t know if he wanted to be pulled or what the situation was there but it wasn’t going to matter who was in net.

Carson Birnie made it 4-0 at 3:38 of the third period un assisted. The Blades finally got on the scoreboard at 9:48 of the third period when Brandon Lisowsky scored his second goal of the playoffs from Trevor Wong and Edmonton Oilers 4th 2021 4th rounder Abbotsford native Jake Chiasson.

Jayden Grubbe scored his second of the playoffs at 12:47 of the third period to make it a 5-1 game. Assists on the goal to Ben King and Jhett Larson. Olds, ALberta native defenceman Charles Wright scored for the Blades with 6 seconds remaining in the game on the powerplay from Trevor Wong and Egor Sidorov. The goal was meaningless at this point and the Blades lost the game.

Rebels outshot the Blades 20-16. Kyle Kelsey got the win for the Rebels. Austin Elliot and Ethan Chadwick split the duties for the Blades.
