The Blackfalds Bulldogs beat the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Friday night 4-3 in Overtime. I don’t know what it is but every time the Silverbacks come to town it is such boring hockey to watch. Its painful like the Bulldogs drop to a sloppy beer league style of game like the Silverbacks. They play Spruce Grove again on Saturday which are always a million times better games to watch.
Chappaqua, New York native Jared Rothman made it a 1-0 game for the Silverbacks at 8:25 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to Brady Walters and Philadelphia, PA native Brady Logue.
Shots on goal in the first period were tied 7-7
Thomas Neu ties the game up for the Bulldogs at 3:53 of the second period with his 10th goal of the season. The assists on the goal went to Nicholas DiPaolo and Matthew Croxall.
Keith Senft makes it a 2-1 game for the Silverbacks at 5:45 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to Luke Sinclair and University of Alaska Anchorage commit Tanner Walos.
Shots on goal in the second period were 13-12 for the Bulldogs.
Nikita Ivashchenko ties the game up for the Bulldogs on the Power Play at 6:44 of the third period with his 11th goal of the season. The assists on the goal went to Joey Melo and Thomas Neu.
This is the worst goal ever allowed and the ref knew he screwed up but by the time it happened it was too late. He let the guy interfere with Mertz take him out of the play and score. Utter garbage goal by Brady Louge assisted by Jared Rothman and John Lumsden.
Matthew Croxall tied the game up for the Bulldogs at 14:25 of the third period with the assists going to Nikita Meshcheryakov and Kiernan Poulin.

After 2 amazing saves by Carson Mertz which kept the Bulldogs alive Joey Melo buried a pass in front of the net from Noah Mertz after the Silverbacks royally messed up in their own end to win the game at 4:28 of the overtime period.
Shots on goal in overtime were 2-2. The Silverbacks outshot the Bulldogs 33-32 in the game.
Carson Mertz who made his third straight start at the home rink for the Bulldogs stopping 30 of the 33 shots that he faced for the win. For the Silverbacks former Bulldogs Mikkel Christensen made 28 saves on the 32 shots that he faced.
